Electronic Jazz Ensemble (EJE) Group

Readers and Listeners, here is You-Tube playlist of Kevin Keith  and David "Fingers" Haynes of the Electronic Jazz Ensemble playing the Chapman Stick and Drum Machine. EJE is a 2 man (core instrumetns, stick and drum machine) band that does a lot of interesting stuff.  I hope you enjoy.

EJE was formed by Keith and Hayens to explore hew ideas in jazz, using both typical and new instruments. Their first CD, This is EJE, features several guest artists, including Jeff Lorber (piano) Ron Brown, (saxes) and Paul Harris (keyboards and composition).

The Motels, Suddenly Last Summer.

The Motels were an 80s New Wave group, fronted by singer Martha Davis, and their best songs were full of emotiongs..longing, lost love, missed opportunities.  In some ways the late 80s reflected a loss of Punk Rock's innocence and energy.  The Motels made it very personal.   The had a string of wonderful songs, "Total Conrol" 1979,  "Only the Loney" 1982, "Take the L" 1982, "Suddenly Last Summer" 1983, "Remeber the Nights" 1983, "Little Robbers" 1984, "Shock" 1985, "Icy Red" 1985.

Martha Davis had a a solo carreer after the Motels disbanded and the band had reformed for concerts and Marth Davis has toured with vaious linups including some original band members and has done soundtrack and compiation albums.
